Industrial control systems have to behave predictably under conditions a desktop application never faces — electrical noise, vibration, temperature swings, and operators under time pressure who need an unambiguous read on machine state. We start by understanding the process itself: what the machine or line actually does, where the failure modes are, and what an operator needs to know in the first three seconds of an alarm, before writing a line of PLC logic.

Control philosophy and I/O specification come first, because retrofitting logic after wiring is decided is expensive. We document interlocks, sequencing and safety logic in a form the client's own maintenance team can review, then build the PLC program in ladder logic, structured text or function block, depending on the platform and what the client's technicians are already trained to maintain.

HMI and SCADA screens are designed for the operator who's seen the interface a thousand times, not for a demo — status at a glance, alarms that don't nuisance-trip, and navigation that matches how the physical process is laid out. Where a client needs visibility beyond the plant floor, we add remote monitoring through industrial gateways and protocols like OPC UA or MQTT, without exposing control logic to the same network.

Every project closes with simulation or factory acceptance testing against the documented control philosophy, then commissioning on site. We hand over program files, I/O lists, network diagrams and operator documentation in formats the client's own engineers or a third-party integrator can pick up later — we don't build systems that only we can maintain.

Which PLC and HMI platforms do you support?

Primarily Siemens (TIA Portal, S7-1200/1500) and Allen-Bradley/Rockwell (Studio 5000, CompactLogix, ControlLogix), with SCADA work in Ignition and WinCC. We match the platform to what's already installed or what your maintenance team is trained on — introducing an unfamiliar platform usually creates more long-term risk than it solves.

Can you work on an existing PLC program without a full rewrite?

Yes, and we prefer it when the existing logic is sound. We start by reverse-engineering the current program and I/O mapping if documentation is missing, then modify or extend it rather than starting over — a full rewrite is only justified when the existing logic is undocumented and unreliable.

How is testing handled before a system goes live on the plant floor?

Logic is simulated against the documented control philosophy before any hardware is touched, then validated through a factory acceptance test where possible. Commissioning on site follows a written test plan covering interlocks, safety circuits and failure modes, so issues surface in a controlled sequence rather than during production.

Do you provide ongoing support after commissioning, or is this a one-off build?

Most engagements end at commissioning with full documentation handed over so your team or integrator can maintain the system independently. Ongoing support — remote troubleshooting, logic changes as the process evolves — is available as a separate arrangement, but we don't lock clients into needing us for every future change.

What's excluded from a standard PLC/HMI engagement?

Physical panel building, electrical installation and safety certification, such as CE marking, are typically handled by the client's electrical contractor or a specialist panel shop, though we coordinate closely with them on I/O and wiring specifications. We focus on control logic, HMI/SCADA design and the documentation that ties them together.
